I'm a former Royal Marine (13 yrs) for the last 2 years I've been working as a Maritime Security Consultant.
I just spent a week on the STCW95 course with Red Ensign. They have very friendly, knowledgeable, experienced instructors with some of the best facilities and equipment for fire fighting, sea survival and first aid.
Fantastic people Great training, I highly recommend them for anyone in the Maritime Industry.

I have been working offshore now coming on 8 1/2 years and Red Ensign have probably been the best place that I have been to for training. The people are friendly and have an excellent way of training and the centre has got a very personnel feeling to it. For instance, the fire fighting part, they actually have you fight a fire in a container to feel how hot it gets and to search for victims (dolls) in the dark and smoke. Sea survival is in the ocean, so you have to swim against the current and which gives a more realistic feel to it. I thoroughly enjoyed my time here and will suggest to my company that they send more staff here for training.

When my trainer from my company told me I would be coming I truly was most concerned because like you all know I don't swim. What a fantastic week I've just spent at Red Ensign on my Stcw95, in addition taking my radar and VHF operators courses. The courses were very informative, professional & realistic based practical training. The instructors made the training fun and the whole group were a really good mixed bunch of skilled people in there fields. "Just a quick note to express my thanks to you and your team for providing us with the Personal Safety Training. As you are aware, we are from a specialist law enforcement agency and as such, our training requirements were significantly different to many of your commercial clients. I was very impressed with your ability to tailor the course to our specific needs. This included deploying the RHIB and taking us through the capsize and vessel righting procedures. The training was made all the more realistic by being able to utilise the pontoon, which allowed us to experience the difficulties of working within tidal areas. Without exception, we were all impressed with the professional delivery of the presentations and actual training by your staff. Whilst we benefited from their realistic approach, at no time was our safety compromised.
It is intended to expand the maritime aspect of our work and, as such, we will be placing more staff on this course.
