Course Outline
The Day Skipper course is conducted on board our Nelson power boat "Osprey" and teaches pilotage, navigation, seamanship and boat handling up to the standard requried to skipper a small cruising motor yacht safely by day in tidal waters with which the student is familiar.

The Day Skipper syllabus includes:
- Motor Yacht handling under power
- Passage making
The Watch Leader course includes:
- Use of the tender

Learning Mode
This course takes place over five days, on board our Nelson 34 twin screw motor yacht on the Solent and in our training school located in Cowes.
Entry Requirements
Some familiarity with sail cruising is required to pass the Day Skipper certificate, and we strongly recommend a Day Skipper Navigation qualification, or equivalent proficiency in order to pass this certificate.
PB Level 2 or an Advanced Power boat course would act as a precusor to the Day Skipper course.
