RYA Short Range Certificate (SRC) / VHF Licence
Course Outline
This course introduces you to your VHF and GMDSS radio sets, and to the procedures which are internationally recognised for use on the Short Range Radio airwaves.
The course follows the short range certification required to achieve the qualification of Restricted (VHF) Radio Operator which is a legal requirement for using or overseeing a VHF radio on board ship.

Coastguard use - mayday, pan-pan and routine traffic

Learning Mode
The course will be run in our specially equipped training room, using live radio sets, at the Red Ensign training facility in Cowes.
Entry Requirements
There are no formal requirements for this course however you should be over 18 years of age and should bring a passport sized photo for your licence.
Costs
The price for this course is £116.50 inc VAT.
A separate payment of £30 will be required by either debit/credit card or cheque on the day of the course to accompany your licence application.
