Course Outline
This MCA approved course aims to provide the necessary knowledge and information for those designated to enter into and carry out work in enclosed spaces onboard merchant vessels.
Content & Objectives
Meeting the training requirements set out in The Merchant Shipping Regulations, the IMO Resolution “Recommendations for Entering Enclosed Spaces Aboard Ships” and the Code of Safe Working Practices for Merchant Seaman the training includes

Identification and risk assessment of potential hazards

Safety inspections

Enclosed pace permits

Practice of safe entry, working and exit procedures of confined spaces

Use of industrial atmosphere testing equipment

Practice of entry supervision

Simulated self-rescue including the use of breathing apparatus
Learning Mode
This one day course combines classroom and practical sessions and is held at our training centre in Cowes
Entry Requirements
There are no formal requirements for this course however you should be over 18 years of age.
