This one day course is an introduction to the water. It is specifically aimed at those starting out, who have very little experience. The topics covered in the Powerboat Level 1 are similar or the same as those in the Level 2 course, but as a one day course, they are covered in less detail and are perhaps more appropriate for the true beginner.

The course covers the following topics:

• Launch & recovery
• Preparation
• Boat Handling
• Picking up and securing to a mooring buoy, and berthing
• Safety equipment and safety communications
• An introduction to buoyage and passage planning
• Awareness of other water users

The course is delivered on the water and with some theory sessions taught in our specialist training centre in Cowes, Isle of Wight.
