To successfully complete the STCW 95 Fast Rescue Craft course, candidates will demonstrate the following skills:

• Take charge of FRB's during and after launch and upon recovery
• Participation in all aspects of rescue and care of casualties from the water
• Operate FRB engines
• FRB capsize; causes, prevention and righting
• FRB craft; equipment and operation
• FRB maintenance, operations and casualties

In order to do this satisfactorily, you must be able to handle a fast rescue craft effectively and safely. This FRC boathandling refresher course will supplement your boat handling competency before the course proper.

NOTE: In order to receive the FRC IMO Certificate of Competency you must already hold one of the following:

• Certificate of Proficiency in Survival Craft (OPITO or TEMPSC are not acceptable)
  UK Approved Lifeboat man Certificate or other National Equivalent

• Certificate to Medical Standards Section B-VI/2/1 (ENGI) or other National Equivalent to Merchant Navy standards.

If you do not hold any of these qualifications, we are only able to give you a certificate of completion for the FRC course. This refresher course is not an acceptable replacement for these qualifications, but will bring your boat handling skills up to a level where the FRC course can be taken.

To ensure that boathandling skills on board ribs are competent to go forward to the full STCW 95 Fast Rescue Craft course.

This course is taught in our powerboats, based at our headquarters in Cowes, Isle of Wight.
