Foundation Certificate in Food Hygiene

COURSE NUMBER CIEH 2


Everyone who works with food has a responsibility to make sure that food does not cause harm to consumers. This certificate, accredited by the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health, introduces all those who will be providing food, or organising a galley, to the basics of food hygeine.

The certificate is a minimum qualification for those working with food in a commercial arena.

The course covers the following subjects:

  • An introduction to food safety
  • Food law
  • Food safety hazards
  • Taking temperatures
  • Refrigeration, chilling and cold holding of foods
  • Cooking, hot holding and re-heating of foods
  • Food handlers
  • Principles of safe food storage
  • Cleaning
  • Food premises and equipment

The course is delivered on site in our specialised training centre at our HQ in Cowes, Isle of Wight.

There are no pre-requisites for this course.
