I have and continue to attend many CPD courses, some good and some not. I believe that honest and detailed feedback is important for both the training provider and potential future students. If I'm honest I expected the course to be the basic mixture of theory and practical and a bit of "death by powerpoint". It was far from it, the sea survival and fire fighting practical sessions were excellent, enjoyable, fun, informative and relevant. The facilities are of a very high standard and are more than fit for purpose. The instructors were a font of information and lessons are delivered in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Teamwork is encouraged from the start, building up to team search and casevac drills in the fire training unit.
I actually went into the classroom each day looking forward to the day's activities. I learnt a great deal on this short course and would recommend Red Ensign for the STCW safety week. Thanks to all the training team.
